The Nest Collective

The Nest Collective is a Nairobi-based multidisciplinary artist collective founded in 2012. It creates work across various mediums, including film, music, fashion, visual arts, and literature. The collective is known for projects such as the critically acclaimed queer anthology film Stories of Our Lives, which has been screened globally and won several awards.

The Nest Collective also founded HEVA, Africa’s first creative business fund of its kind, to support East Africa’s creative entrepreneurs, and the Strictly Silk program, a space dedicated to celebrating joy, safety, and community for women and non-binary people. Their work centers on African urban and contemporary experiences, exploring themes related to identity, culture, and social issues, primarily addressing the perspectives of young Kenyans while also resonating with a global audience.
