Sismo Sur Producciones

We are the artistic union of slums, neighborhoods, and marginalized communities. We create musical, film, literary, photographic, visual arts, and other content. Giving rise to our voices and first-person perspectives, valorizing our creative force and proposing art as a collective outlet, our political commitment to social transformation.

We have historically learned to resist through collective organization; today we turn that potential into a seed to create new forms of re-existence, with networks of artist friends from all the slums, neighborhoods, and subaltern communities who fight from below, transforming dead-end labyrinths into paths full of opportunity.

El Reniegue

This is a film entitled “El Reniegue,” translating to “The Renegade.” For us, the participation of artists from the Villas and neighborhoods is essential because we know that it becomes a representative event of enormous joy, that it gives the film the identity that we seek, that it mobilizes people to see it within the community and outside of it, filling the theaters, as well as allowing the production to be nourished by the resources that abound in each location, and at the same time make visible potentialities and capacity for resolution, projecting vocational desires that begin to be possible.
