Grey Area Collective
Grey Area Collective is a BIPOC, women-led social impact design and research studio working at the intersection of activism, art, and technology. They harness the power of speculative design to create participatory exhibitions that confront urgent global issues such as climate change, migrant rights, and body sovereignty. By activating design interventions in cities across the world multiple times a year, they aim to challenge dominant narratives and inspire community-driven action. Through their Action Lab, they bridge the personal and the political, encouraging individuals to see their role within larger global systems. They explore how interconnected these critical issues are and empower people to recognize that even small actions can lead to meaningful change.

Amazonia
Amazonia offers a glimpse into a climate-ravaged future where the systems providing food, water, shelter, safety, power, and communication to New Yorkers are on the brink of collapse. By using everyday objects, the installation makes the scope and complexity of climate change tangible and invites visitors to imagine futures that currently seem impossible.
