Action Education
Action Education, established in the 1980s from the fusion of Community Health Players and Youthline’s services, initially focused on drama education and psychodrama. Evolving into an independent Incorporated Society, it prioritizes creative self-expression, particularly through spoken word poetry, to bolster identity and self-esteem.
Guided by values like manaakitanga (hospitality) and kia ngākau nui (youth development), Action Education offers safe spaces for authentic expression and community building. Notably, its WORD – The Front Line program, launched in 2014, utilizes spoken word poetry to engage youth, nurturing personal growth and intercultural connections.
