Baan Noorg Collaborative Arts and Culture

Baan Noorg functions as an alternative interdisciplinary art program for developing contemporary art and cultural production for local and global community. It initiated programs and contributions to Nongpo community and other since 2011. Baan Noorg’s programs and activities is by-project funded by government/private institutions and foundations.

In 2011, the duo “Jiandyin” (Jiradej Meemalai and Pornpilai Meemalai) founded Baan Noorg Collaborative Arts and Culture www.baannoorg.org, a not-to-profit artist initiative that runs art and cultural, artist in residency, curatorial, interdisciplinary exchange and off-school programs, located in Nongpo community, Ratchaburi, Thailand. Baan Noorg’ participated in Thailand Biennale Chiang Rai, Thailand, 2023 and documenta fifteen, 2022, Kassel, Germany.

Jiandyin is an interdisciplinary artist/curator duo. The duo lives and works in Ratchaburi, Thailand, and their work approaches artistic research, field work, genealogically layered with references to multiple sources and evidence, forms and matters upon a wide range of disciplines and mediums, with collaboration and social engagement. Jiandyin creates space/platform or situation to analyze relationships between man and society in relation to context and history of the place and space, issues regarding the political conflict or effect on marginalized groups which is a paradox of nation-state.

NPKD (“NongPoKidDee”)
Baan Noorg – NPKD organizes Unlimited art workshop for children, Short Film Festival and NPKD Social Enterprise project at Nongpo community. NongPoKidDee Social Enterprise is under the operation of Baan Noorg Collaborative Arts & Culture, Initiated project by Jiandyin (Jiradej and Pornpilai Meemalai) in 2017. The aim is to be a community enterprise that can be a learning resource for the development and local wisdom of the community of Nongpho village. Nongpho’s main industry is Dairy Farming. NPKD (Nongpo-KID-dee) Social Enterprise’s mission is to train and educate the youth and villagers of Nongpho on the development of raw materials within the local area. Moreover, the enterprise’s expectation is the participants are able to transfer knowledge to their families, to add value to at hand raw materials and to create income, as a result.
