Artists at Risk

Artists at Risk (AR) is a non-profit organization working at the intersection of human rights and the arts since 2013. It supports artists facing persecution, oppression, or fleeing conflict by relocating and funding them globally through a network of partners, including artistic institutions and international organizations. By 2022-2023, AR assisted 767 artists and cultural professionals across 302 partner institutions. The organization has helped prominent figures like Pussy Riot’s Maria Alyokhina and Nadya Tolokonnikova, and Vietnamese dissident Mai Khoi.
